1. Slug
No. It is not the snail-like insect that you might have seen at the beach. It is an incident. An accidental spill that can potentially be dangerous and pass through the public sewage water treatment plant is known as a slug discharge. It can cause a disruption in the plant and thus the plant operators do not want it anywhere near the plant.2. Agitator
Agitators are generally believed to cause a disturbance but not this one. It is a machine used to mix two fluids and distribute them evenly from top to bottom of the basin.3. Tank
It is similar to the tank you have at home but it is used for a completely different purpose. Tanks in sewage water treatment plant are used to remove impurities and clean the water.4. Clarification
This does not mean explaining. Clarification in respect to the wastewater treatment plant means the process of removing the solids out of fluids, making the liquid cleaner.5. Bugs
Unlike the insects, these bugs are beneficial. Actually, these are the bacteria that are beneficial in the process of wastewater treatment.6. Digestion
Similar to our body, in a sewage water treatment plant, digestion refers to breaking down of solid particles, performed by the ‘bugs’ mentioned earlier.7. Cake
Cake might not sound appetizing after this.
