7 Words With Different Meaning To Water Treatment Plant Operators

Being in the business of sewage water treatment plant installation, we are aware of a few common words that mean something else to the common man. To stop with all the confusion, we have presented a list of words that you might have heard the plant operators using, and their meanings are not what you think.

Check out the list of 7 words that are different from what you think.

1. Slug

No. It is not the snail-like insect that you might have seen at the beach. It is an incident. An accidental spill that can potentially be dangerous and pass through the public sewage water treatment plant is known as a slug discharge. It can cause a disruption in the plant and thus the plant operators do not want it anywhere near the plant.

2. Agitator

Agitators are generally believed to cause a disturbance but not this one. It is a machine used to mix two fluids and distribute them evenly from top to bottom of the basin.

3. Tank

It is similar to the tank you have at home but it is used for a completely different purpose. Tanks in sewage water treatment plant are used to remove impurities and clean the water.

4. Clarification

This does not mean explaining. Clarification in respect to the wastewater treatment plant means the process of removing the solids out of fluids, making the liquid cleaner.

5. Bugs

Unlike the insects, these bugs are beneficial. Actually, these are the bacteria that are beneficial in the process of wastewater treatment.

6. Digestion

Similar to our body, in a sewage water treatment plant, digestion refers to breaking down of solid particles, performed by the ‘bugs’ mentioned earlier.

7. Cake

Cake might not sound appetizing after this. The cake in the wastewater treatment process refers to the dried sludges or residuals derived from the plant after the sewage is treated.

Understand these words so you can know what the plant operators are talking about and if you have any inquiry related to the plant and its operation, do not hesitate to give us a call. Get in touch at 079-4003 6917 to know more!
